Will Sampson Memorial Statue
Through support from Okmulgee Main Street contributors and partners, the Muscogee Nation, Glenpool Indian Community, and the City of Okmulgee, funding is now secured to produce the maquette. This first phase is currently in development and will serve as the foundation for fundraising toward the full-scale statue. Designed by artist Kenneth Johnson, the project honors Will Sampson’s legacy through both his cultural identity and career in the arts. The completed statue will stand in downtown Okmulgee as a lasting tribute and a catalyst for continued community investment and cultural recognition.
