Our Committees
The Main Street Four-Point Approach helps bring new life to downtown areas by focusing on four key points: Organization, Promotion, Design, and Economic Vitality. By working together and building on local strengths, we can create a vibrant, lasting place to live, work, and enjoy.

Organization
This point centers on building strong partnerships and keeping the program running by attracting people and funding. The committee handles fundraising, volunteer coordination, promotion, financial management, stakeholder communication, and long-term planning.
Promotion
This point focuses on marketing the district to residents, visitors, and investors through events, promotions, and outreach that highlight its unique character. The committee works to position the district as a hub of commerce, culture, and community by understanding the market, identifying key assets, creating engaging campaigns, and evaluating their impact.

Design
This point focuses on improving Main Street’s physical appearance through building renovations, public space enhancements, and supportive planning. The committee promotes good design, offers guidance, encourages quality improvements, and helps shape future development. It also works with partners like the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) and supports efforts like design reviews and signage to strengthen the district’s visual identity.
Economic Vitality
This point focuses on growing the district’s economy by supporting existing businesses, attracting new ones, and finding new uses for historic buildings. The committee identifies market opportunities, encourages investment, and tracks economic progress to support long-term, sustainable growth.
